..not ready to hang up my wheels to the new guard quite yet, as mentioned on the FB page, Ladies 12 hour record is now in the region of 234miles, awaiting for official confirmation from event organiser once the TK have worked out all the mileages... But Garmin recorded 234.4. At 6 hours I had 122 miles in the bag and so was possibly on course for the national age record, but gusting varying winds and tiredness finally took their toll in the second half.
Much respect to Sheila who did almost 222 in 1959, that was a phenomenal ride I know, I know what it has taken to finally beat it at 3rd attempt, but also considering the equipment from then to now. Mind you as Sheila said at the dinner, I did not have the advantage of her dad shouting at her to go faster......

Ok revised distance now confirmed 235.10 so a little better than I thought

Shame I could not have stayed on course for 242miles... oh well I will NOT be attempting that again any time soon....
