Very frustrating trying to upload some pix, first have to log in, then go to galleries where it wants me to log in again if I am to add an pix, then despite extensive cropping pix are still too big... how do I reduce pix to go on to the site without losing the content of the picture? Help any techies out there?

Currently the maximum size of the image is 500 KB and if your image is larger you can re-size it without cropping by adjusting the file size using Photoshop type picture editing software. If you don't have this type of software you can download free shareware such as GIMP.
You will probably be comparing with loading pics to Facebook but they have loads of dosh and have complicated algorithms that automatically re-size the image. I have today spoken to the web developer and asked him to investigate whether we could introduce similar and how much it would cost but in the mean time I have asked him to increase the max picture size to 1 MB.
If you are still struggling, email the picture to me together with the who, where, what and when information and I will load it for you. But I'm off on holiday Monday and will be very busy with open 10 stuff when I return so I can't guarantee when it will get done.

Hi Sharon, I noticed that you had posted your 1985 Women's National Championship picture on Facebook so I have downloaded it, re-sized it (it was just over the 50 KB) and uploaded it to the website for you. Once the file is below 50 KB it uploads with no problem at all. Also, I don't know why you were asked to log in a second time, are you sure that you logged in correctly the first time?
If you do need and help in future with website issues you are welcome to contact me, putting them on the forum and Facebook makes it look as though there is a problem with the website whereas it's actually a problem with trying to load a picture of more than 50 KB (the instructions clearly state you can't do that).
Don
PS I posted this message earlier and, when I came back and viewed it, I thought that maybe it could be read as a little aggressive, so a quick edit to let you know that it really isn't intended to be, just trying to convey the facts clearly.

The max image size has been increased from 500 KB to 1 MB, if you don't want to re-size using photo software, you should be able to load straight from your phone with just minor cropping.
I don't know what the average image size is on an I phone but on my Samsung they come out at around 1.4 MB so minor cropping will get it below 1 MB. If you don't know the size of the file just hit the email button (without actually sending it) and it will show the attachment file name and size.
As 1 MB images take masses of file space and should display a very large image on the website, this will hopefully be a temporary measure until auto re-sizing can be introduced (if we can afford it).
Hope this helps.

Thanks Don, I def logged in correctly but when I click on the galleries it says you cannot upload pictures without logging in so have to go back to log in... this has happened more than once so I can't believe I am logging in incorrectly each time... anyway thanks for your help.

Hi,
You have to log into the website which is different to logging into the forum. The website and the forum are two seperate logins. You also have to register separately for each. The website login and registration is in the top right hand corner. A pain I know but that is how it is.
Apologies if you have already done this.

A QUESTION
If two browsers are set at 100% and the first computer screen is bigger than the other, will the pictures from our gallery display at the same size or will they be proportional to the size of each screen?
