The first Night Ride was a resounding success, nine riders participated and the atmosphere was electric. There was plenty of chat and jokes on the way out to Chesterton Windmill and we decided to take the off road track up to the windmill. We arrived a little too late to see the best of the sunset, but the very late evening clouds created their own drama over the landscape below. We then waited for darkness to arrive on a lovely warm evening, while surveying the ancient Roman landscape that lay in the valley.
We then proceeded to Warwick Service Station for a few beverages; spirits were not dented despite the planned full moon not materialising due to cloud cover. We enjoyed our refreshment break while the heavens opened and we took our time departing from the shelter Warwick Service Station offered.
On leaving the rain eased and the riding was very pleasant on a very warm evening, conversation was interspersed with laughter and we could hear our tyres jipping along the roads beneath us.
At the end of the ride everyone was keen for another Night Ride to take place...
