Boxing Day Cross
This year is the 66th Boxing Day Cross on Kenilworth common, the U10's and U12's race are sign up on the day. They will take place at 11am, with the main race being at midday.
Please note the following:
Is a nature reserve. Across the majority of the common cycling is not allowed. Permission is given to Coventry Road Club to use the common for this race once per year. Anyone known or found to be using the course prior to the event will have their entry returned. The organiser and several local council officials enjoy walking through the common most days! The common is a public area and there may be several Boxing Day walkers who stumble upon our event by chance. Please give them a good impression of our sport and help us to leave the area as we found it –LITTER FREE.
Regulars will know that parking near the course is at a premium. DO NOT park in Woodland Road or Highland Road. There is lots of space in and around the Princess Drive Industrial Estate area CV8 2FD; which is very close to the top of the course. Just avoid parking near the private garages on the right hand side. There is also an industrial estate near to the bottom of Common Lane. Some parking places are available here but avoid parking in the car parks for the “Castle Brook” care home. In essence, turn up early and park with care and consideration for the local residents and other road users. Do not block driveways and under no circumstances park on Common Lane itself – this is part of the course!
